These subtle yet attention-grabbing notifications work automatically in the background, pulling from your actual store activity to show authentic customer interactions as they happen.

Types of Events

Ultimate Social Proof displays several types of toast notifications, each designed to build trust and encourage conversions:

Purchase Notifications

Show when someone buys a product. These display the customer's first name, their location (city/region), and the product they purchased. For example: "Jane from Sydney just purchased Eco Bottle 500ml."

Multi-Sale Notifications

Aggregate purchase data to show popularity. When multiple people buy the same product, you'll see messages like "39 people bought UltraSoft Hoodie in the last hour." This creates powerful social validation.

Review Notifications

Display recent customer reviews with the reviewer's name and a snippet of their feedback. Seeing positive reviews from real customers builds credibility and trust.

Live Visitor Notifications

Show how many people are currently browsing your store or a specific product page. Messages like "27 people are viewing this right now" create urgency and validate interest.

Individual Visitor Notifications

Weighted Rotation

Different event types have different weights that influence how often they appear:

  • Sales: Highest priority—individual purchases are the strongest social proof
  • Multi-Sales: High priority—aggregate purchase data shows popularity
  • Reviews: High priority—customer feedback builds trust
  • Stock Alerts: High priority—creates urgency on product pages
  • Visitor Counts: Medium priority—shows current interest
  • Milestones: Lower priority—celebratory but less conversion-focused

This weighting system ensures that your most persuasive content appears more frequently while still maintaining variety.

Session Deduplication

To avoid annoying your visitors, the system tracks which toasts have been shown during a session. The same notification won't repeat for 30 minutes, ensuring visitors see fresh, relevant content rather than repetitive messages.

Context-Aware Display

Toasts adapt to the page being viewed:

  • On product pages, you'll see product-specific sales, reviews, visitors, and stock alerts
  • On other pages (home, collections, cart), you'll see store-wide activity

Free vs. Pro Plan

Toast notification behavior differs based on your plan:

Free Plan

Shows 1 toast per visitor session. This single notification introduces social proof without overwhelming your visitors. It's a great way to get started and see the impact of social proof on your store.

Pro Plan

Unlocks toast cycling, which continuously rotates through available notifications throughout the visitor's session. You can configure:

  • Toasts per session: Set a cap from 1-12 toasts per visitor session
  • Display frequency: Choose between Subtle (few per minute), Balanced, or Aggressive (many per minute) pacing

Toast cycling keeps social proof visible throughout the shopping journey, reinforcing trust at every step from browsing to checkout.

Customization Options

You can customize how toasts appear and behave:

  • Position: Bottom-right or bottom-left corner
  • Theme: Choose from Minimal, Luxury, Bold, Pastel, Glass, or Dark presets
  • Quiet Mode: Reduces toasts when store data is sparse
  • Privacy: Option to mask customer first names
  • Location Display: Show or hide customer cities
  • Event Age: Control how recent events must be (6-72 hours)
  • Stock Threshold: Set when low-stock alerts appear (1-20 items)
