Position and Frequency Settings
Control where your social proof toasts appear on screen and how often they display to visitors. These settings help you balance visibility with a non-intrusive shopping experience.Position
Choose where the toast notification appears on your store:
- Bottom right (default) — The most common placement for notifications. Appears in the lower-right corner of the screen, following the natural eye flow for left-to-right readers.
- Bottom left — Places the toast in the lower-left corner. A good alternative if you have other elements (like chat widgets) in the bottom-right corner.
Both positions keep the toast visible without blocking important content like navigation menus or product images.
Frequency
Frequency controls the pacing between toast notifications—how quickly one toast follows another. This setting determines the rhythm of your social proof display.
- Subtle (few per minute) — Longer delays between toasts. Shows notifications sparingly for a gentle, unobtrusive presence.
- Balanced (default) — Moderate pacing that maintains visibility without overwhelming visitors. Works well for most stores.
- Aggressive (many per minute) — Shorter delays between toasts. Shows notifications more frequently for maximum social proof impact.
Important: Pro Plan Required
The frequency setting only applies when toast cycling is enabled, which requires a Pro plan. Toast cycling automatically rotates through your recent orders, showing multiple notifications during a visitor's session.
On the Free plan, a single toast displays based on your timing settings, so frequency does not apply.
Recommended Settings by Store Type
Here are suggested configurations based on different store scenarios:
High-Traffic Stores
- Position: Bottom right
- Frequency: Subtle or Balanced
With many visitors, a subtle approach prevents notification fatigue while still providing social proof.
New or Low-Traffic Stores
- Position: Bottom right
- Frequency: Balanced or Aggressive
When building trust is critical, more frequent notifications can help establish credibility quickly.
Stores with Chat Widgets
- Position: Bottom left
- Frequency: Balanced
If you have a chat widget in the bottom-right corner, use bottom-left positioning to avoid overlap.
Flash Sales or Limited-Time Promotions
- Position: Bottom right
- Frequency: Aggressive
During time-sensitive sales, frequent notifications create urgency and show that others are taking action.
Finding the Right Balance
Start with the Balanced frequency and Bottom right position. Monitor your store's performance and visitor behavior, then adjust as needed:
- If visitors seem overwhelmed or bounce rates increase, try Subtle
- If you want more visibility during promotional periods, try Aggressive
- If toasts conflict with other on-screen elements, switch to Bottom left
