Date Range and Filtering
Overview
Ultimate Social Proof provides flexible date range options for analyzing your widget performance data. Whether you want to review yesterday's activity or examine trends over the past year, the dashboard adapts to show you the metrics that matter most.
Your plan tier determines how far back you can access historical analytics data. This guide explains all available filtering options and how to make the most of your analytics.
Preset Date Ranges
The dashboard toolbar includes convenient preset date ranges for quick access to common time periods. Simply click the date range dropdown to select from these options:
- Today - View activity from the current day, broken down by hour
- Yesterday - Review the previous day's complete performance
- Last 7 days - Analyze the past week's trends (available on all plans)
- Last 30 days - Examine monthly performance patterns (Plus plan and above)
- Last 90 days - Review quarterly trends and seasonal patterns (Plus plan and above)
- Last 365 days - Access a full year of historical data (Pro plan only)
- Unlimited history - Pro plan includes unlimited analytics retention
The dashboard automatically adjusts how data is grouped based on the selected range. Shorter ranges show daily or hourly detail, while longer ranges aggregate data by week or month for clearer trend visualization.
Custom Date Range Picker
For more precise analysis, use the custom date range picker to select specific start and end dates. This is helpful when you want to:
- Analyze performance during a specific promotion or sale event
- Compare data from a particular week or month
- Review metrics for a custom reporting period
- Focus on a specific timeframe that doesn't match the preset options
To select a custom range, click the date range dropdown and choose "Custom" to open the date picker. Select your desired start and end dates, then apply the filter to update your dashboard.
Analytics History by Plan
Each Ultimate Social Proof plan includes a specific amount of historical analytics data. Here's what's available on each tier:
| Plan | Analytics History | Available Presets |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 7 days | Today, Yesterday, Last 7 days |
| Basic | 7 days | Today, Yesterday, Last 7 days |
| Plus | 90 days | All above + Last 30 days, Last 90 days |
| Pro | Unlimited | All presets with no restrictions |
What Happens When You Select a Restricted Range
If you attempt to select a date range that exceeds your plan's analytics history limit, the dashboard will prompt you to upgrade. Here's how this works:
- Preset ranges beyond your limit - Presets that require a higher plan are clearly marked in the dropdown. Selecting one will display an upgrade prompt explaining which plan is needed.
- Custom ranges beyond your limit - If you select a custom date range that spans more days than your plan allows, the range will automatically be adjusted to fit within your plan's limit. You'll see a notification that the range was limited and can choose to upgrade for full access.
- Upgrade prompt - When a range is restricted, you'll see a modal explaining that your current plan includes a specific number of days of analytics. The modal provides a direct link to manage your plan and upgrade to unlock longer historical data.
Widget Type Filtering
In addition to date ranges, you can filter your dashboard by widget type:
- All widgets - View combined performance across all your social proof widgets
- Toast - Focus on toast notification widget performance
- Inline - Analyze inline widget metrics separately
Widget filtering works in combination with date range selection, allowing you to see exactly how specific widget types performed during particular time periods.
Tips for Effective Analytics
- Start with presets - Use preset ranges for routine monitoring, then switch to custom ranges for deeper investigation
- Compare time periods - Note key metrics for one period, then select another to compare performance
- Match ranges to your business cycle - If you run weekly promotions, the 7-day preset provides week-over-week comparisons
- Upgrade for trend analysis - Longer history periods help identify seasonal patterns and long-term trends
